Building a Quiz
Quizzes let you build a scored quiz or assessment — questions, results and a call to action — and publish it to your site.
People who finish it become leads, with their answers attached.
Questions
You can ask five kinds of question:
- Single choice — pick one
- Multiple choice — pick several
- Scale — a sliding rating
- Yes / No
- Text — an open answer
Mix them freely. Most quizzes that work are shorter than their author first wanted, so it is worth cutting anything you would not act on.
Draft, preview and publish
A quiz starts as a Draft. The editor has four tabs — Questions, Scoring, Results and Preview — and Preview runs the quiz exactly as a visitor would see it, scoring included. Use it before you publish rather than after.
If anything would stop the quiz working, the editor lists it under Fix these before publishing and blocks publishing until it is sorted.
Publishing saves a locked copy that new answers are scored against. You can keep editing the draft afterwards and publish again whenever you like — a quiz with unpublished edits says so at the top, so you always know whether what you are looking at is live.
Archiving and deleting
Archive a quiz to take it off your site while keeping everything it collected.
Delete removes the quiz, every published version and every response permanently. Archive is usually what you want.
Its web address
Each quiz has its own web address, made of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Keep it short and readable — it is what you will be putting in a link or a post.
