Advanced Mode
Advanced mode is a fuller view of the same SEO page. It does not change how your site behaves — it changes how much of the SEO settings you can reach. Everything saved in advanced mode is saved in the same place as everything saved in the simple view.
Turning it on
There is no switch for this in your dashboard. Advanced mode is enabled per site by your developer, so if you want it, ask them and it will be there the next time you open the page.
You may not need it
The two settings people most often go looking for are already in the simple view, on every page you edit:
- Preferred address — tells search engines which version of a page is the official one, so several addresses showing the same content don't compete with each other.
- Hide this page — keeps a single page out of search results while leaving it reachable by anyone with the link.
If those are what you came for, you already have them.
The five tabs
Overview covers the whole site: a title template applied across pages, a default title and description for pages that don't set their own, the type of content your site represents, and a single switch that hides the entire site from search engines.
Pages is the per-page editor — title, description, social image, preferred address and hide, chosen a page at a time.
Structured data describes your business to search engines in a form they read directly, which is what lets details like your address or opening hours appear beside your result. Seven business types are available: Restaurant, Store, Local Business, Professional Service, School, Educational Organisation and Organisation.
Sitemap turns the automatic sitemap on or off and lets you notify search engines that it has changed.
Performance shows the speed and health scores from your most recent audit.
The one to be careful with
The site-wide hide in Overview is the only setting here that can take your whole site out of search results in one click. If it is ever on, your SEO health score says so in plain terms rather than quietly losing you traffic — so if the score drops and mentions visibility, that switch is the first place to look.
